Storm Chasing

I went storm chasing for the first time this year and it was amazing. I went with StormTours.com with Brian Barnes. He was a great storm chaser, got us to all the best storms, was very informative, very safe and welcoming and humorous. I am 100% going again next year.

The Essence of Rabbit

This is a crazy bunny compendium.

"Too much bunnies? There’s no such thing! And just to prove it Pictoplasma asked internationally established and upcoming character designers, illustrators and artists around the globe to send in their versions of rabbits, bunnies, hares and everything in between. The result is a full-scale bunny overdose, with far more than 1.500 individual rabbits from 500+ international contributers. By condensing the endless variations of the rabbit motif into one ultimate system - a perfect bunny mandala - the true nature of the beast emerges: the eternal essence of rabbit."

Chocolate Pencils

Mmmmmm chocolate pencils. You sharpen them to get chocolate shavings!!! This is by a company called nendo, who have loadsa other cool stuff and art.

Chocolate-pencils is a collaboration with patissier Tsujiguchi Hironobu, the mastermind behind popular dessert shops like Mont St. Claire and Le Chocolat de H. Tsujiguchi created a new dessert based on his impression of nendo after conversations with us, and we designed new tableware for them. We wanted our plates to show off the beauty of meals and desserts like a painting on a canvas. Based on this idea, our "chocolate pencils" come in a number of cocoa blends that vary in intensity, and chocophiles can use the special "pencil sharpener" that comes with our plate to grate chocolate onto their dessert. Pencil filings are usually the unwanted remains of sharpening a pencil, but in this case, they're the star!"

The Counter

The Counter is a US based burger company with locations all over America (but not Florida which is lame as this is where I am at the moment) You get a checkbox menu when you enter and so there are over 312,120+ combinations of burger you can have. A great idea as everything is freshly prepared, this should be expanded to all different types of restaurants yum. nom nom.

Etsy

I have just discovered Etsy and have not fully explored but can't wait to.

It is a place where people who make homemade things can sell to a big audience.

Or

What is Etsy?

"Our mission is to enable people to make a living making things, and to reconnect makers with buyers.

Our vision is to build a new economy and present a better choice:

Buy, Sell, and Live Handmade."

Lemony Snicket

Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events is one of my favorite series of books. Focusing on the lives of the Baudelaire children; Violet, Klaus and Sunny, who are trying to scape the evil Count Olaf. I love, and my lovely Talli brought me most of the 13 books in the series, much love x

The series has also been made into a film with Jude Law and Jim Carey. I thought it was shame they condensed maybe the first 3 books into one film and then never did anything with the rest of the series, but that is the lesson you learn from reading the books first.

RSA Animate

RSA Animate is a series of video  lectures, 'vision videos', where lectures from some of the  worlds most inspiring thinkers are accompanied  by a video  of real  time  drawing illustrating their points.

Very worthwhile and engaging, my favourite is below.

Terroirs Wine Bar and Restaurant

I took my family to  Terroirs  on a Friday evening in summer  for  a  meal, and  luckily we had  a table for two hours. It is a short walk from Charing Cross Station.

The wine list is extensive, the food is amazing.

I had some of the best snails for starters along with some clams  in a lemon and garlic sauce. For main I had black pudding, fried  eggs, potatoes and broad beans, nom nom nom. My mum and brother had some  Bavette, skirt steak. They didn't even ask how you wanted it done, you get it rare. It was amazing or as my  mum put it 'out of this world'(though she uses this term quite a lot)

Highly recommended, the staff were lovely, the décor is relaxing, and under £40 per  head.

EyeMaze

When I used to get bored at work I played games online, most of them very bad and boring. EyeMaze on the other hand is very different.

There are a number of puzzle games all made by one guy with the most amazing graphics. The general idea in the games is to click on different options to work towards a goal, but you dont know which order will get you there. In the mistakes are lots of animations that will keep you amused until you find the right sequence that leads to the grand finale.

Check it out, hours of fun.

Papu Chan

I love Papu Chan. I brought him for my ex's birthday and he's still got him so I am going to purchase myself a brand new one.

It's a MP3 whale/seal. (Papu Chan is actually the pink girlfriend of Pala Chan the white main character, but I like saying Papu Chan better and so he is the white one to me)
